AMERICAN MARTYRS RETREAT HOUSE

Some of you have experienced the peaceful and spiritually refreshing atmosphere of the American Martyrs Retreat House. Every year I try to spend a week there to recharge my spirit. The Retreat House was built 50 years ago and has been in need of some repairs and up dating. Sister Jeanine Kuhn PBVM, the director, has done a remarkable job of fixing up, cleaning up, and repairing. (Mary Lou Murphy has donated several days in helping with this.) But this all takes money. So we will use the Offertory this weekend to generate some donation from our parishes. I would also urge everyone to take a look at the Retreats offered and take advantage

of these opportunities.

Back in the late 40Õs Roseville got a new organ and it has been serving us well ever since – except for the past few years. Recently the Pastoral Council has been discussing whether or not to invest in a new one. They would like to know the feelings of the Parishioners of St. Mary. The quoted price is about $25,000. We do have some money in savings and could also seek donations. In the past whenever we had a project the parishioners came through eagerly to finance it. Express your thoughts to one of the members of the

Pastoral Council.

You have probably noticed that having someone as song leader helps the singing and hence our Mass a great deal. It would be beneficial if we could have this luxury at every weekend Mass. If you would be willing to lend your talents in this ministry, please visit with Dennis Staudt.

Remember ÒHe/She who sings prays twice.Ó

Those wishing to donate to the Flag Project in our cemetery can make a check payable to St. Mary Roseville for $100 and put in the collection at church or mail to David Gabel, 2151 Hwy 14, Rockford, IA  50468. The number of flags put up in the cemetery will depend on the number of donations. Thank you to all planning to donate.
