Industrial Park Information The Greene Development Corporation is actively seeking businesses and industries interested in expanding or relocating in Greene. Site Information Greene has a new industrial park located on Iowa Highway 14. Approximately sixteen acres of the park remain available for development. The park is served by eight inch water and sewer mains, electricity (12470/7200 voltage, 120/208 3-phase, 120/240 3-phase, 227/480 3-phase, natural gas and a newly constructed paved access road. Labor Force Selected Greene employers offer starting hourly wages ranging from $7.00 to $9.00 per hour. Winnebago Industries, just seventeen miles from Greene, offers an entry level wage of $8.50 per hour. It typically receives six applications for each person hired. Butler county had an unemployment rate of 4.4% as of July, 1999. This rate was significantly higher than that of several adjacent counties. Financial Assistance The Greene Development Corporation has utilized the services of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, the Butler County Development Corporation, the Butler County Rural Electric Cooperative and various other entities in seeking and obtaining financial assistance in a multitude of forms for business prospects. First Business in Industrial Park The first business to relocated to the Greene Industrial Park was American Tool & Engineering Inc. Construction was completed in December, 1999. The company currently employs 41 individuals and is in operation 6 days a week. Greene is very proud to have this company in town. To-date, it has brought in at least 10 new families to the community.
